Da Swamp LLC will be hosting a benefit walk/run for autism on Saturday, June 1, 2013 to raise both awareness of autism itself and to raise money to benefit Bridge the Gap for Autism, an organization dedicated to aiding autistic individuals and their families, spreading awareness of autism, providing understanding of the disorder, and "bridging the gap." The first Saturday in June will be our annual run/walk.
The 3.5 country mile walk/run will start at Da Swamp bar at W2490 Hofa Park Road Saturday, June 2, 2012. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m., and the event starts at 10:30 a.m. People of all ages will be able to participate and may choose to walk or run.
Below are suggested donations to walk or run.
$15 per individual
$45 per family of four or team of four
$10 per each additional family member or team member
Please make checks payable to: Friends of NEW Charities
All proceeds will benefit Bridge the Gap Inc., a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization that provides grants to people in Wisconsin with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Shawano County residents are served first.
Coffee, juice, water, and snacks will be provided for all participants through generous donations. Porta potties and bottled water will be available on the walk/run route. Intersections on the route will be patrolled and marked. Ample parking available for walk/run. Roads are stroller accessible, and home owners have been asked to keep their dogs leashed. Volunteers will be on ATVs patroling the walk/run route for assistance if needed.
